Field Friendly is a design concept that focuses on getting beyond the point of failure. The goal is to create items that are functionally versatile and extremely well made. However, it’s clear that failure cannot be mitigated away completely. So, it sounds odd but to do this the focused has to be on failure.

The nature of the world is that failure is inevitable because all things fail in time. Therefore, at OPSG the effort has been work at isolating and mitigating the weaknesses in OPSG products. By accepting failure as an inevitability and a constant, OPSG can create the most robust products possible, even when that means planning for failure!

OPSG is always looking for potential failure points in our products. When a weakness is discovered, the product will be redesigned to remove the weaknesses or flaws and facilitate field repairability. As a result, there is no such thing as a final product design at OPSG. Instead, there is a constant effort to stare down failure and keep it as isolated and mitigatable as possible. This is why OPSG products are extraordinarily unlikely to fail. However, in that rare instance when failure occurs OPSG products are serviceable in the field by anyone with a modicum of skill.
