Description
Growing up in the hills and hollers of WV there was always a bandanna on you somewhere. Usually, in your back pants pocket. A handkerchief was no good had to be a bandanna. Bandannas were bigger and could take the abuse of being used from everything from wiping your face, a bandage or you could even tie yours and your brothers into a sling if needed. Which was the case more than once with me and my friends. Beyond the handkerchief simply being not right for the demand on it they were for Sunday church not every day work or play.
Today, our heroes have returned from deployments in with an appreciation for the shemagh or keffiyeh. Shemagh’s are bigger and offer more versatility because of this added size. They are made from a gauze like woven cotton fabric which allows more air to flow. However, there are draw backs. They have tassels, the fabric is not very strong and well they don’t look like home.
The SHEMANDANNA solves the down sides or both! The Shemandanna is large like a shemagh but is made from a better-quality fabric. It’s still very soft and allows very good air flow but the higher thread count fabric is much stronger and feels much better than the Shemagh. There are no tassels or raw fabric edges and all the edges are hemmed. So, the end product is an item that, like any good hybrid, fills the needs of the consumer better and more completely than the standard version it is based on.
